For me, edged "pink" means that the audio has lost its synch? Solid Scarlet? Woah!!! - G

I'm guessin here . . Have you changed Prefs at all? I have "Ignore 3rd PArty . .. . " ? - G

Yes, not pink. In fact I've one clip that is shows thumbnail pics for the first quarter of the length and then scarlet for the rest. Something to do with Cineform upgrade? Just a thought, but would have expected all to go if that were the case.

Well, prefs are a possibility. I run my clips through DVFilmMaker to make them progressive and although the project properties are "progressive", some clips have personal props of "interlace". Changing that brought some of them back to pictures, but not all.

That's interesting because that's pretty much the sort of thing I'm seeing. But I'm not using Gearshift; they're cineform intermediates on the timeline. I've just tried the ultimate weapon -rebooted the machine. I'll go see if that helps.

No the desperate thing of rebooting isn't of help (as expected). Although the clips play Ok in preview auto, there is nothing in best full, so solid red seems to mean the same as solid black (off-line). Audio OK.

Edit: in fact "red" is the same as "black" and I seem to have a problem with a directory on the hard disk. All clips are on the same disk (no, not Maxtor!!) but different directories. Some more fundemental checking now needed!
