Red dot removal?

I have the FDR-X1000V action cam and sometimes when recording towards the sun the video has a small red dot in the middle of the image. This issue seems to happen more often when I use the hard lens protector or the waterproof case. Is there a video FX that can remove this red dot from my video. I use Movie Studio Platinum 13. I also have the HDR-AZ1 and it does the same thing, so don't think it is a hardware issue.

Is the red dot one pixel, or many?
Is it static, or does it move around?

It's a small round red dot, and stays in the middle of the image. If I am shooting away from the sun it does not appear. Also, it happens mostly with the lens protector or when in the waterproof case.

Sounds like some lens flare.
I think suppressing it would take a lot of work using any kind of overlay.

What is the quality of your lens protector (filter)? Is it coated? If not, you may want to spend a few extra bucks and get a coated filter. They're supposed to be better at reducing flare.

The lens protector (and waterproof case) is from Sony, and is the only one available for these action cams. Perhaps the curved lens has something to do with it. It is a very wide angle.

Again, it is not a defect with the camera (everyone has this same issue). I would just like to know if there is a video FX that I could use to remove it.
