Red Frame on Pic in 9.0c

I installed 9.0c. When I started the program it loaded in the current project I was working on in 9.0b. To my surprise I noticed one of the jpegs on the timeline had tunrned red and when previewing showed black on the screen. Deleted the pic then replaced it with the same file in the project meadia list. It re-appeared on the timeline.
Then I tried to crop the image (as it was before) and when I did it turned black when zoomed in? zoomed back out it re-appeared
Has anyone else seen this strange behaviour in 9.0c?

Yes.
Loaded 9c on my test laptop (not video workstation), loaded a test video and had red clips. The video was very choppy in preview and draft, space bar would not work. Vegas froze then BSoD. Restarted the laptop and now it "seems" to be working fine. I will continue to play with it on my laptop until I can verify that all is good then load it onto my dedicated A / V machine.
