red frames

Working on a project - about 1 hour long - with HD Video from a Sony HVR-Z1U camera and some footage from an older SD camera. Have used these mixed media before.
Project seemed to work fine - rendered, burned a DVD in DVD Arch.
Went back and made some minor adjustments.
That's when the red frames - and resulting black video - started appearing - in 2 or 3 places.
I tried to re-import the bad video - the red frames came right back.
Any suggestions? Help? Thanks so much.

Did they appear on a clip that had a plug-in affected?

Gosh, there has been a lot of discussion about this.
Do a search for "red frames" on this forum before you post back, please.

I've gotten red frames too so I just tried to search. Searching for red frames with no quotes brings up a million unrelated links having nothing to do with red frames, and adding quotes gives 0 results. Do you have a link to a thread or post?

I think he may be talking about the infamous black frame problem which looks like it has been solved in version 8c

I used to get red frames the odd time as well, and I THINK it has something to do with dropped frames or a bad capture.... or at least something not quite right about the frame that Vegas doesn't understand. I don't get them anymore since I changed my capture procedures (I capture the tape in its entirety first, then scene split with either HDVsplit or NEO HDV)
