Red Thumbnails?

Bushwhackr wrote on 2/9/2006, 8:43 AM
Let me apolgize in advance for a dumb newbie question!

I have Vegas 6 and occasionally I get red thumbnails in the video track. As I zoom in or out, they will sometimes fill in and sometimes not. I can't seem to find much in the documentation about the thumbnails at all.

Is this due to the processor lagging behind, or maybe because the frame isn't aligned properly? In any case, is there some way I can ask the software to "refresh" the thumbnails?

Thanks!

Red tinted thumbnails are a sign that the audio and video are out of sync.

Thanks, Rob.

I didn't mean red tinted, I meant that the whole thumbnail is bright red, with no image whatsoever.

And...is there a way to turn off the thumbnails completely in the video tracks?

Thanks!!!

Yeah but you lose your waveforms too.

a corrupt video frame will result in a red frame in the event thumbnails (as an error indicator). What type of source file is this?

HEY! I've seen TWO messages from the ForumAdmin in one day. THEY'RE BACK! Yea! Haven't seen much from them for MONTHS!

Edited and added: No offense was meant, guys. I just missed seeing you, I'm sure.

I get red thumbnails when using WMV files that have some corrupt frames. Only thing you can do is cut around them :)

It is a wmv file. I've noticed that I don't get them with uncompressed avi files. Am I not supposed to edit wmv's?

Thanks!
