I've been importing WMV files into a project and editing them .When I reopened the project today the last events (about 20 minutes of video on 70) showed as red thumbnails on the timeline. After that, I started having problems: Vegas just crashed when opening the file, or crashed when I tried to edit the timeline. The red thumbnails flash briefly a word starting with "mem" (I guess "memory").
At one point I was able to delete the red events from the project and save them as a separate project, so I have now two (apparently) healthy files again. But when I tried to merge the project, the last events became red again and the file unworkable.
Any ideas on what happens there and how to solve the problem?

Configuration: VMS Platinum 9.0b on Vista SP1, quad-core machine with 4 Gb RAM and 400 Gb left of hard disc.
