redered a clip with default settings, and the filesize grew... why?

I took a clip of video that was 1.5 gigs and increased it's speed to 400%. I trimmed off the annoying extra 3 copies (why does vegas do that). So, my scene was now 1/4 the duration of the original, but 4 times faster.

Then I hit 'render to new track' and the file that got created was 4.1 gigs. Does that make sense?

Should I have used the DV template? I though keeping the setting at 'project default' was the way to go.

Thanks.

You need to choose some kind of video compression, if you use no compression your file size is huge. Don't worry, you will not notice a quality difference using compression. Try one of the templates and go from there.
