Region selection

Hello all,

it's been a while...

My question to the forum is this:

In Vegas 5, one was able to hold down the shift key and ] to select areas based on events. This seems to have gone in 6. It was very useful in selecting small edited sections of audio for a render.

Is this on the wish list for VV 7, or does anyone have another workaround.

Love to all

Phil

Try it without the shift key?

I'm finding it difficult to put into words exactly what I'm trying to do.

You know when you create a loop region from which you render? You hold the mouse and click and hold above the timeline.

Well, in VV 5 you could do that with the shift key and ]. You would be able to select a loop region based on events on the timeline.

Doing it without the shift key only allows you to navigate along the event beginnings and ends.

It was a VERY useful set of keystrokes...

Very strange. On my computer ] (without shift) selects the event. } ( ] with shift) does nothing.

That's right Chien, but in VV 5, shift + ] would allow you to select a region (not the event). The length of the selected region was the same as the length of the event.

I just want to bring this up again because I'm hoping the VV 7 can reintroduce this very useful feature which seemd to be dropped from 6.

You know how you can use the [ & ] keys to jump between the beginnings and endings of clips. Well in 5, if you did that while holding the shift key, it would also colour in a loop region. A very useful tool for creating a region based on multiple events.

This disappeared in 6. Any chance of getting back for 7 Sony?
