Do you have anything like a firewall or IP blocker running - it could interfere with registering - could be worth a quick disbale and test (and then re-enable afterwards)

Yes, I do have a very nice Cisco firewall, but I've had it for years and have registered a number of versions with it.

I just re-installed IE 7 and am hoping it re-set anything that may have gotten unset with my Firefox install.

ff/ie should have nothing to do with the registration. runs it's own program. i'd just disable the firewall, or check & see if MS/AV/etc. is blocking it.

OK, none of the above worked, so I took the dialog's suggestion and did "alternate Registration" thru Customer Support.

Only had to go through it twice to enter the serial correctly (doh!)

I too run Firefox and I actually had to open it during registration to "show" Vegas that it was connected to the internet. Then the registration went through in a blink.
