Registration Fails - Sony Please contact me.

On-line registration fails with, "The server was unable to complete your request".
I have filled a form in on the UK web site (Wednesday or Thursday 9th or 10th) no reply, even though it states "we will contact you in 24 hours"
I have tried ringing at least a dozed times only to be greeted with "due to the heavy volume of........"
Fax is not an option.

This is for VMS 8 and DVD-AS 4.5

Would someone from Sony please contact me.

Thank You.

Bill.

You can submit an email support request by following the Customer Service links at the top of this page. Note that you need to create a support account, which is not the same as your user account for the forums.

A forum moderator may get back to you as a result of your post, but it is not the most direct way to ask for support with registration issues.

The software you are trying to register is several years old. Are you sure it is not already registered?

Thank you for the response and suggestion musicvid, I'll give Sony another day then try your suggestion.

I should have said in the OP this is registering on another computer, when I filled in the contact form from the UK web site I included the machine ID of the computer it is installed/registered on and the machine ID of the computer I wish to ,,, I think it would be better terminology to say re-register though this is not used by Sony.

I have tried the procedure of "Register from another computer".

I am aware of the age, if I dug very deep I could possibly find the sales receipt.

Maybe Sony should view this as an endorsement of the quality of their software, I've had very few issues, it has been on the same computer since I purchased the software though the HD has been changed and a change of operating systems, Vista, XP Pro, Win7, in that order.

Thanks again,

Bill.

All you "should" need to do is connect the second computer to the internet and register using the serial number (only). Machine ID's should be unnecessary and maybe that is what is confusing the server.

There is also a "register by phone" option that is easy to use.

If you think you have previously reinstalled your software at least ten times, you may need to call CS anyway . . .

Thank you musicvid,
Both programs are now registered/activated on another computer, by using your suggestion of contacting Customer Support , a bit of a run around but I got there.

Best Regards,

Bill.
