Registration Woes

When I run the registration wizard, the operation times out, telling me to check my internet connection. My internet connection is fine, and given that my firewall didn't pop up an alert saying that the program was trying to reach out, I'm thinking the problem is in the registration app itself (I even tried temporarily disabling the firewall completely, no go). So I chose, "register from another computer" get the html file, jump to the web form, submit, get my registration key, run it, all seems well. Then when I try to open a mpeg file, I'm asked to register that. Again, operation times out, so I use the "other computer" method. But this time, when I try to submit the form, I get:

"You entered an incorrect Serial Number or Computer ID. Please review the information for accuracy and try again".

I didn't change the values sent by the html file, they're set to exactly the same values as they are on the pop-up if I try the "phone" option on the registration wizard.

Anybody have an idea what gives? I was really looking forward to using VF this weekend, but since Sonic only does phone support M-F, and all my files are in mpeg format, I'm thinking that's a lost cause. The FAQ doesn't seem to address this issue, can any one think of something else I can try to get this going before Monday?

Thanks!
Victoria

shoulda run a search of the forum before posting, 'doh! Found a hint in someone's past post, and tried downloading and installing VF 2.0c. The "register by internet" option still didn't work, but the "other computer" option *did*, so I'm good. A little ticked that this was such a big deal (if you bought the box because you have a slow connection, guess you're out of luck!) but it's working now, so I'll content myself with that!

Welcome to VF... Sorry you had some initial probs, it's not a common bug - could be several reasons; os, the way your security is set for cookies etc. Someone else may add some others. But you'll have a lot of fun with this software. There is a wealth of experience on the forums who'll be willing to help. It's a good, solid prog with a few minor hic-ups which are usually solved. Happy editing.
