reinstall question

I haven't had reason to reinstall Vegas yet. It and my
system are running fine- but with W2K coming soon, I may
have to.

My question is this - if I reinstall Vegas on the identical
hardware - will I need to bother with the registration
numbers game - copy this number, send it to SF, they send
me another number etc.

I am assuming that their registration system would produce
the same number off of the same hardware - is this true?

thanks,

Paul

Paul,

If you reinstall Vegas on the same computer, and you haven't made any
major hardware changes such as reformatting your hard drive, you will
be able to use the activation code you currently have to get Vegas
running again.

Otherwise, you'll need to re-register through our web site and get
another activation code. This only takes about a minute. When you re-
register, provide your new Computer ID plus your existing serial
number or activation code, and we'll issue you a new activation code
that will work on your computer.
