RELATIVE paths vs ABSOLUTE paths for assets..?

I have an issue with my Vegas Movie Studio project when I transfer it to another computer.
Instead of looking in the current directory for the asset, it looks at an absolute path which it records in the .vf project file.

Is there a way of simply getting Vegas to look for the asset like
.\current_folder\sub_folder\asset.jpg

Help!

(happens in versions 9 through 12, Windows 7)

Not that I know of. It's a Windows thing.
When Vegas asks, don't use "search for missing files," instead use "specify new location."
Once you've pointed it to one asset, it will find all the rest in that location.
