I need a little advice. Whle most of my work is output to DVD I do have clients that wish to have VHS copies of edited programs. Currently, I print-to-tape via my GL-1 to an A/V distribution amp and then out to the VCR's. Once in a great while I have a quick dropout between computer and GL-1 where for a second I get the familiar Canon bluescreen and then it jumps back to the streaming video from Video Capture. This is rare but very frustrating. So much so, that I've even thought of just recording via a DVD player to S-video so as to be sure not to have firewire drop-outs.
I'm looking for advice on a low-cost firewire to analog (s-video, stereo) box. I seem to recall that Sony has one but can't find it on-line. Any other suggestions? I don't need a capture card or anything that encodes just a box that will communicate better than my GL-1 and convert the firewire output to the analog signal for distribution. Thanks very much for your help.
