Remembering the directories

There's one small detail in Vegas which I find a bit
annoying: If you open a file, then select "Save As.." , it
will open the directory where you last saved something -
not the directory where the file you just opened, is. In
most other programs, it's the other way around.

However, don't touch the "Render As.." settings. The fact
it remembers where and how you last saved is a GOOD thing.
Especially when you have to open, then render a large
number of files to another directory.

I have a very large number of small files to deal with (as
I'm working on a game project), so I've occasionally dreamt
of some kind of a batch exporting function..

The Batch Converter (which was previously only usable from
within Sound Forge) is being redesigned as a standalone
application, and it should be out soon. Please check with
our website periodically for the latest news.

Sounds great - but how soon? We have a project deadline
approaching, and a Batch Converter that works with Vegas
files would be urgently needed, and most helpful if
available. Otherwise I'd have to manually render some 500
Vegas projects.

if you're looking to batch vegas projects, you better get
started. Batch Converter is meant to process actual files,
not playlists or projects.

Oh, bugger.

It would make sense to implement at least some sort of a
batch functionality for Vegas... even as a command
parameter string so that I could create a .BAT file which
opens this file, saves it to that file with these settings,
then opens the next file, etc...
