I've been quite happy with RealVNC.

UltraVNC is another flavour of VNC (like realVNC is). I prefer Ultra. It's open source and you can download it for free.

Just setup a static IP on your computer, or set the router to assign the same IP to that computer
Forward your VNC ports (5800 and 5900)
and you should be set. You have to install UltraVNC on both sides of course.

This exact subject was just discussed a few weeks ago. Here's the link to that thread:

PC to Server Syncing

For remote control of PC's on the Internet I use:

GotoMyPC.com (pay service of $99 year)

LogMeIn.com (free service)

I really like them both, but I'll probably start using logmein on the PC that I have gotomypc on once the service expires.

Both are highly secure and very fast.

I've been using wwws.GoToMyPC.com for years.

It costs money, but it's bulletproof and easy. Plus I can send "invitations" to my clients and have them looking at my desktop or whatever file I want, in real time. Reviewing Photoshop files is wonderful, and Vegas also plays reasonably well.

You can also drag files from one computer to another.

And it's available from ANY computer, at any time. For instance, no matter where I am, I can log onto my main computer and look at or copy files.

They also have www.GoToMyMeeting.com available which I use on an occasional basis. It costs $50 bucks a month which is steep for the few times I need it, but having a meeting recently with a programmer in New Hampshire, a client in NYC and myself in Boca was a dream come true.
