Remove all un-used takes

Anyone know of a function (or script) that will remove all un-used takes in a project?

I have a project that I use as a template for additional versions of the same, basic project. It's convenient in Vegas to just add each trimmed clip as a take so that all effects, transitions and such are retained on each event, but I end up with a whole bunch of un-used clips on the timeline and in the library. It would sure be nice to be able to just select an option that would "remove all un-used takes" and be done with it.

Thanks :-)

There's a script titled "Remove Not Active Takes" in this collection that looks like it might do what you want.

Thanks for the link. I've downloaded the ZIP package and will weed through the many and varied items in the file (there are 161 items in it ;-)

would it also be possible to save and trim the project? I'm thinking that would leave out anything that wasn't live and used.

Goto the media pool. There is a lightnong bolt icon. Click on it. Notice it's labeled "remove all unused media from the project." This is what you're asking fpr isn't it?

Rednroll? Is a Take the same as Unused Media? - Grazie

Nope, My bad I misunderstood the question. Thus, why I asked in my previous response because I wasn't exactly sure what they meant. For getting rid of the unused takes, just select Save as .Veg project, then enable "copy and trim media with project" and select "create trimmed copies of source media". This will elliminate the non active takes.

This is OT, but I can't seem to contact Jimwoodruff directly.

Jim,
I noticed a while back you had some posts about using a TVone DV-2001 capture box. I was wondering if you still have it, how it holds up, etc. Look for my recent "TVone DV-1394-A50" and "A/D again again" posts for details. Thanks for any help.
