Put a censoring black bar or pixelation over that portion of his face so everyone can puzzle about why.

Where on his face is the bandaid?
How many frames is the bandaid visible?

Well, ANYTHING is possible. And it's when you are trying to accomplish the near-impossible is when you learn alot about the tools at hand.

Short answer without knowing anything more about the footage: Not much you can do and not have the repair be very noticeable.

Depending on may factors you MAY be able to take the matching area form the opposite side of his face, mirror it and composite that over the offending area. Even in the easiest to do situation it's going to take a fair bit of work not to end up with a result that sticks out more than the bandaid.
Bob.

PS, not fair, getting beaten to the most obvious answers!

well, what if i take a snapshot of EVERY SINGLE FRAME and edit that snap shot on photoshop and put those back on time line? would that work? i know it woluld take some effort and time but is it worth t because i have to do this
Spot|DSE wrote on 11/20/2004, 2:31 PM
try using duplicate tracks, and on one, use the Mirror plugin, masked with the cookie cutter filter set really small to mask off the area.

You can render an image sequence of the selected frames rather than snapshots and then edit as you say is one way.

well i think i will have to convince my cousin with the band aid becaue it will take a loooooooooot of time for me to fix the video. i am sorry this thread went for noting but thanks a lot for your replies.
This is the ONLY best forum on the net that replies so quick and people are very helpful.

Depending in the circumstances, you just need a sample of skintone that will match and use a bezier mask on the bandaid with feathered edges and put the skin sample on the track below. It may not be perfect, but with some motion blur it may work.
xkashx wrote on 11/20/2004, 2:52 PM
I know i have to match the band aid with the skin color, but i think it will take a lot of time so i wont do it.
ClipMan wrote on 11/20/2004, 2:57 PM
...you could turn the clip upside down and it won't be as noticeable ... anyway, what kind of bandaid is it...? ... (sorry, I just had to...)
xkashx wrote on 11/20/2004, 2:58 PM
a regular one. the clip is about a minute long.
ClipMan wrote on 11/20/2004, 3:01 PM
...regular bandaids are harder to hide ... does the bandaid appear throughout the whole clip...? ... if it doesn't , do a cut-away when it does appear and leave the sound going... think they call that a J cut or something....
nickle wrote on 11/20/2004, 3:03 PM
Well there is another way,
use the cookie cutter, but add lots of feathering and add a border, but select a border color that matches the skintone if you can. It will be all one color but if it matches it will be quick and easy.

I think you should look at this completely differently. Try to accentuate the band-aid. Make that feature of the video "stand out" even more. Make a joke out of it. Zoom in on it a few times. Have a big arrow pointing to it - and add a text bubble saying something funny.

I am reminded (just a little) of the scene in Goldmember (or one of those Austin Powers movies) where someone has a big mole on thier face... that was quite funny (with apologies to anyone here who has a large mole on their face - or anywhere else:-)

Honestly... although I am only half joking... the fact that your cousin made a point of this does seem a little strange. If it is that important to him then you need to scrap the video and re-do it when he is happy with his appearance.
