Generally you can ignore the loop if you don't want to think about it.

You can collapse it by pressing i and then o without moving the cursor. This will create a new loop with a length of zero, which effectively means it doesn't exist.

This might help - go to Options>Preferences>Editing and click the Collapse Loop Region box. If it becomes annoying that way, you can always change it back.

But I just use I + O all the time.
