There are 3 vegs teaching this on the sundance site.
You can do it with 3 copies of the clip, bottom one is B/W, middle is child to the top one. Top one uses secondary correction filter, with "show Mask" checked so that the mask is created around the selected color.
At WEVA, it was done this way. But, it can also be done with the chroma key tool and 2 tracks rather than 3. Both are on the Sundance site.

The Vegas Tips and Tricks newsletter hosted on videoguys.com just had this in one of their issues too.

The secondary color correction filter has a preset called something like "desaturate all except red". If you apply this, you can then adjust the hue for the selected colour to change the target from red to whatever colour the dresses happen to be. Of course it works best if nothing else in the shot shares the same colour.

EaglesVid,
You've regurgitated an old Vegas 4 thread, so it's likely you'll want to see a newer version, of which there are several. Edward has a multi-color technique on his site, and then there is this one that is from Vegas 5, but applicable in Vegas 6. The technique changed in Vegas 5, so earlier explanations from Vegas 2, 3, and 4 would be different/less easy.

Yes, I'm Edward. You can find both passing a single color and passing multiple colors in Vol 2, #10 of the newsletters. Vol 2, #10 works with Vegas 5 and 6.
