Removing / editing "Menu 1" text?

I guess this will sound like a stupid question, but I can't seem to edit or delete the "Menu 1" text that appears, of course, on Menu 1. It seems like I should be able to click on it to edit it, but I can't figure out how to change it, and I don't want to change the title of my film to "Menu 1."

Has anyone else encountered this?

Select the object and hit F2, or right click and choose Edit text.

OK... I shut everything down, restarted, and now I can edit it by clicking on it...

If this happens again, make sure you have selected the correct tool in the toolbar. Some of the tools do not permit you to press F2 and then edit the text (e.g., the navigation tool).
