Removing old .NET framework version

How do I remove an old net framework version? I am trying to instal the upgrade of Vegas Audio 6 and am getting these error messages saying that an older version of .NET framework is installed. I can't just go into remove software and get rid of the old version. Does anyone know how to do this properly?

Don't worry about removing the old version...you should really update to the latest...Vegas requires a certain .NET level to install.

Use Windows Update and see what it suggests. You will most likely see a newer version of .Net offered as a update.
