VirtualDub has a filter to get rid of time/date stamps, I've forgotten the name of it as I don't use it, but I'm quite sure someone will pop in with the name.

Since time/date normally appears in a corner you could click on the Event/Pan button at the end of your clip before you start to break it into seperate events and just zoom in a little.

The DeLogo Filter is the one that you're looking for.
Be advised that nothing can completely remove the date/time stamp. All this filter will do is to mask it to a (hopefully) acceptable level.
BillyBoy's idea is ok if the date/time stamp isn't too big, otherwise you'll be cropping far too much of the image.
