Removing video noise from low light condition

I have a recurrent problem because a lot of times I do video recording in low light and it results some times in grainy video. I wanted to know if there is any way in Movie Studio or using a plug in to remove the "noise" from the video. I use neat image for this exact purpose for my photographs, so I figured there might be some way to remove the "graininess-noise" from the video... I'm open for suggestions..

Hello Juan,

in this thread -
http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=444256 - Douglas Spotted Eagle recommends using the Median tool, but warns that it can be quite slow.

Regards, Myles.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot.... where can I find the Median tool/filter? I swear I looked all over Movie Studio and this website... could not find anything. Is this an extra filter not included? I have Vegas Movie Studio 4.0. Maybe it's not part of this version. If I can get it separately, where???

Really appreciate the help. I've found plugins to do exactly this (like NeatVideo), but only available for Adobe Premier. I really don't want to switch to another tool just for this!

no such thing as a dumb question

Vegas Movie Studio 4 does not have the median filter. Vegas Movie Studio Version 6 Platinum does (my version). I am guessing Movie studio standard version (6) does as well - I am sure someone here knows for sure.

You should consider upgrading. I believe Sony has some "deals" on upgrades.
