Render 60-69% then Fail

I have a video its 2:13 mins long and I have tried to render it now 3 times and it will only get in the 60 % done range and I get a message that Vegas has stopped working and where the render stops there is this strange blue digital break-up any ideas .
it creates an error report and this is what it says:

Most of the time it is a heat related issue because nothing stresses the CPU like rendering. Make sure your CPU heat sink is free of built-up dust.

The crashing could also be due to a bad media file.

I just pulled it out of normal area cleaned up around the vent holes and have a fan on it as well, Sounds logical, I rendered the portion of video that seems to be affected and it worked fine so I will try this..
