Render as "Custom" no longer working :-(

Radiation wrote on 8/7/2003, 1:32 PM
Just had to format C:

Like you do.

when I used to click on
File, Render As

I would choose "Mainconcept - mpeg2" then i was able to click on the options button and alter the bit rate etc, since i have re-installed XP and put vegas 4 back, i am no longer to open the options box.

I have re-installed all my codecs, just in case that was the cause, but has made no diff.

Does anyone have any sugestions please.

Thank you for your time.

Radiation.

Radiation and Flack,

Has any of you fellows bothered to use this Forums' search function? If you did, I bet you would have found the solution to your predicament. This issue has been discussed before and I saved a portion of it. The following was an excerpt of that discussion and I give credit to those who participated on it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to save their names (my fault- sorry.) I hope this helps.

"I did the same as pcfreakx and it worked until i shut down the app and restarted,
than i was in the same boat (no custom button).
The way i fixed it was to install DVD Architect,
after that it works fine. Its a drag u need to buy DVD-A to make vv4 work.
Hopefully it will be fixed in the first update.

There seems to be a problem with that, and it has nothing to do with registration. I fixed the problem after reading one of the threads here (can't remember exactly which). Look in your registry, and make sure it only has these entries, and nothing else. I do remember that one additional entry has to be deleted. Back up the branch (export) before you delete, so you can restore if things mess up.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sonic Foundry\MC MPEG Plug-In\1.0\License]
"CurrentKey"="XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX"
"InstFlags"=dword:00000010

(you shoud see letters and digits instead of the X's here...)"

OKay, well It'd be really helpful to actually have the name of that thread

Welcome.

Much of the credit is really due to this forum, particularly those who started the "mpeg custom button..." thread, I can't recall when. It was their idea.

I'm just happy to help out whenever I can.
