Render AVCHD to SD DVD

I am capturing AVCHD using my Sony HD camcorder. Everything works great when I render using WMV HD and I play it back on my Playstation 3. However, how do I render these AVCHD files so a SD DVD player can play them? I am having no luck rendering to SD. I am very new to this so be easy.

You must render to mpeg2 format using the Mainconcept codec, and then burn this file to dvd using DVDA or Windows DVD maker.

Use Picture Motion Browser (part of the Sony software package that came with your camcorder) to convert to MPEG 2

In the Sony PMB software under the Manipulate button the is a choice "AVCHD to SD DVD". It will make a playable DVD with menus. All though it is very limited compared to Vegas.
