Render error....

Hello,

Got an error the other day after rendering maybe somebosy can help me. Have a project I have been trying to render for th last week, here is what happens:

The project is about 23 minutes in length. My system usually reboots itself after 20 minutes of rendering this project. I keep retrying and the time amounts are different each time. Over the weekend it actually rendered almost the whole project with the exception of 15 seconds. Enough to make you wnat to drop kick and head for a touchdown. I did keep my cool and saved that project being it was the closest rendering to the end.

Tried rendering again and got it close but shot me an error and this time it did not restart the machine automatically like it usually did; just the error. The error read: "Error occured while creating the media file project1.mpeg. Unable to mix audio. The operation timed out.""" Same project, no new changes and first time I seen this error. I am still trying to find out why it will only render up to the last few seconds of the project but figured maybe this error has something to do with it.

Thanks for any help!!!! Tim.

Hi Tim,

Intermittent reboots can mean an over-heating PC. Check your fans and airflow. Also, if you're overclocking your system, drop it down to its correct speed.

Hello Scott,

Thanks for the info. JetDV also told me the same thing and I have been keeping an eye on the temp. I currently have two system fans besides the cpu and power supply fan. Also i do not have it over clocked. I am going to keep checking it out. I am going to try putting a small desk fan to cool it down. It is an AMD so i know they run hot to begin with. I checked the task manager while it was rendering and the bar graph shows that it is utalizing 99 percent of the CPU and strangely enough a red line is right next to the green line. "Duh" wake up Tim, it is probably overheating like everybody is telling you. Thanks guys.

Hi Tim, well you seem to have plenty of fans (pesky autograph hunters, eh 8o). But seriously, have a look on the net for utilities that read your system temperature - it might help spot an imminent reboot. It will also help you see the cooling effect (or not) of things like removing your system case or repositioning your desk fan.

Also, that red line on task manager is actually the CPU time used by the kernel and not a warning line - you've probably got 'Show Kernel Times' checked on the 'View' menu.

Cheers,

Scott
