Render for printing to tape???

Today I tried for the first time to print a VV video to tape.
The clips I used to do that were captured with VV from dv and put into the timeline without ANY fx, changes, not even a single cut was done to the clips. Just assembled them.

Now I started to print them to tape but - VV started prerending the timeline. Why??? I thought there is no need to render if no changes were made to clips ...

If there are no effects and it is cuts only, it will NOT render the video but WILL create a w64 file for the audio. The "prerender" is to determine whether anything needs to be rendered.

Yeah, I was playing with that too.
I guess you got to watch out for things like the sample rate of the audio source material vs. the sample rate selected in project settings for print to tape / render.

Also, you may want to "delete all" on the audio fx icons.
