I installed the latest vegas pro 11 64 bit(build 683) in my new desktop computer.
when I select render as the sony avc plug does not show up

However the same build in my laptop behaves differently and does show the sony avc plugin

I copied my laptop installation to my desktop and when I fire up the vegas11 inside it it behave just like in the laptop-ie it shows the sony avc plug in render dialog

I have both the directories ie the pro11 directly installed with the installer and pro directory copied from laptop. I cannot see any obvious difference between the contents of the directories.

However the behavior of the software is different ie the pro exe inside the laptop derived directory always shows the sony avc plug in in render dialog

any clues?
