Render problem of screen shots.

Hi All,

I've created a short clip that uses several jpg still images. One of the images is from a screen shot of a desktop application. I altered the size in Photoshop to insure it would work on a large screen (same size as the other images). Anyway when I play the timeline it looks great in the preview no matter what size I set the preview display at. However, when I render the track the image of the screen shot is really jumpy and not very clear. The other imagess and the text overlay looks sharp and still. Someone suggested the problem might be with the codec.

My current template is HDV 1080-60i (1440x1080, 29.970 fps)but I have tried NTSC DV Widescreen (720x480, 29.970 fps) as well with the same results.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks.

Not without seeing video footage. I don't see why a screenshot image doesn't behave, while the other images do. If you are looking into reading what's in the screenshot of a real app don't expect too much though, because of all the softening that goes on during the resize to project size.

I did a bit more testing and found that if I render as a Windows Media v9 (WMV) file it works (and looks) just fine. Sure I'd like it to be a bit sharper but it is pretty good. This seems to point to a codec issue with the mov and avi formats. I'd still like to solve the problem but I can live with the wmv if I need to.
