render problems

my problem occurs when rendering a mix into a wave file (stereo, 44.100hz, 16bit). once fully rendered the wave has a 'hick-up' (slight pause) during the first second (the hick up has actually been rendered!); i also got some cracking noises in wave at a certain point (which i do not have during realtime playback). when i render it again i sometimes get a good render, but i couldn't possibly say what made the difference..

i never had this problem before. i must say, though, that this particular mix is quite complex.. a lot of automated fx going on, about 27 tradks rolling. i'm running at 2,6+Ghz with 756MB of ram (soundblaster live!)

is this a simple setting problem?

ideas? anyone?

ps. i'm running vegas 5.0a

Vegas is now up to 5.0b. Download the latest version and report whether the problem still exists.

please check 5.0b

I have these problems all the time in 5 and 5a but in 5 b they are much rarer

I post it, they call me nuts, other people seeing it sure wont hurt, but it is now a negligeable problem in 5.0b, as in I hardly ever see it

other places you might see it are using "open copy in sound forge" also if you still have it in 5.0b see if it goes away by changing zoom time levels

well, i've been checking out some things..
i was using several cakewalk wavelab plug-ins (VST) on a couple of tracks but also on the master bus (stereo expander, puncher, volume limiter along with sony's wavehammer). the problems did no longer occur when bypassing (some of) these wavelab effects in the master bus.. strange..

haven't tried out 5.0b yet.. i read it's less stable then 5.0a... but i'll give it a try..

I've discovered when using TC Native EQ, there is a glitch at the beginning of the file when rendering, processing & even when I hit start at the beginning of the song.

When I remove this plug in (or disable it) the glitch goes away.

This problem does not occur with other manufacturers' applications, but it does occur in Sound Forge & in Acid.... strange...

installed 5.0b.. same problem though.. only have this with the 'other' (cakewalk) plug ins..
hopefully this will be taken care of in a next update..
apart from that, vegas 5.0 is a superb programme!
