Render Quality Poor (Please view)

So, i record video games with fraps and the quality of the playback at that time is great, although the file sizes are gargantuan, so i then put my video in virtual dub which, takes a while but does a marvelous job of decreasing the size of the video, and the quality is still great. I can upload that file to youtube and its fine, BUT what if i want to add an intro to my video? or edit my video in some other way, when i drag my raw fraps file, or the virtual dubbed one, i render them using the settings in the following video:

They are quite common and people seem to get good results, but not me, the quality is very poor and rendering the raw fraps file takes an age, and still looks poor. What im trying to ask is, how can i improve my process from the moment i get my raw file to when its on youtube?

Im using vegas platinum 10.

Cant think what else i'd need to tell you really.

All feedback greatly appreciated!

Rhys

Frapsforums have tons of advice on this, including links to our Handbrake tutorial.
Since we don't know the details of your Vdub intermediate or your render in Vegas, nothing further can be determined here.
