Render question

After rendering a project that's longer than 10 min. the PC is very jittery or buggy and this lasts until rebooted. It's got dual AMD 2600s with 1 GB of generic (no brand) ram; WD 7200RPM Caviar HDD (set to Ultra DMA).

Anybody else see this same jitter/instability after rendering and have to reboot their PC?

Could generic ram cause this instability?

No good ideas but I can say that I do not see this and I regularly do back to back renders on projects far longer than 10 minutes.
