Render QuickTime via VV30a

I'm having trouble with rendering QuickTime from VV30a. There are two symptoms I have after creating a MOV file via VV30a.

#1 - During playback of a file in the QuickTime 5 Player that is somewhat large (30MB for example) rendered using the Sorenson or Sorenson 3 codec, when I slide the time slider around there are times when the player hesitates, sometimes for a few seconds, before playback continues. I compare this behavior to another MOV file I downloaded from the internet that is about the same size and is using the same codec. This other MOV file does not cause the QuickTime player to hesitate when I move the slider around.

#2 - The file size created is pretty much the same size no matter if I choose 15 FPS or 30 FPS. I believe the file size should change quite a bit between the two settings.

So, I purchasing the QuickTime Pro 5 update and used it alone to create another MOV file with the same settings I selected in VV30a. The final results were:

#1 - In QuickTime Player 5, I can now move the time slider around all I want and the player never hesitates.

#2 - The file size at 15 FPS is much smaller than the one created at 30 FPS.

I used the same AVI to create the MOV files in both VV30a and QuickTime Pro 5.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ron
