Render Stop

Why are renders stopping variously at 10%, 96%, 48 %?
Using Vegas Pro 8c (not 8.1).
Is it possible that this is a memory issue, as in not enough?
I had this frustration a couple of years ago with version 6, but could never detirmine if it was software or hardward related.
This project includes 10 nested segments.
Is nested a source of instability?

Join the club!

I see many fine Vegas users all in the same boat.

Do the usual:

Drop render threads to 1
Adjust you preview RAM. (sometimes 1 gig works for me, sometimes 512 works,...other times 128 is fine.)
Disable "CPU mulithreading" in your PC BIOS if you have a Quad core.
Keep any still files as small as possible. (dont use overy large .jpgs or anything.)

Be patient. Your project WILL render if you make these adjustments. I have already done 5 projects with 8C. All 5 gave me hell but I DID get them all done in the end. (sometimes you gotta fight like Hell and not give up)

(oh....None of mine had nested files)

Hi,

I've had on and off problems exactly like yours since nested timelines were introduced. For me it seemd to be machine specific although all settings were the same on 4 machines.

I've also had problems since 8.0a whenever very high res stills or graphics were used. After reducing them in Photoshop all rendering problems went away (now in 8.0c). In retrospect, the problem may have been high res stills in my nested timelines but I can't prove that.
