Render Time from script

Hello all,

Is it possible to get the time it takes to render a clip? When you do "render as" and the render box comes up it tells you an estimated time left. Can I access this? I dont think it is possible. An alternative approach could be to get the video length and according to render qualtiy work out a rough time. Does anyone know the relationship between media length/qualtiy to render time? I am rendering raw DV files to AVI wrapped DV files

The estimated time left is not available in the API. The render time is highly dependent upon what effects, etc. are in the timeline. Even the Vegas estimate is often not accurate since there may be light effects early on in the timeline, then heavy effects later.

Cool thanks. If I could get even a rough estimate it would help but if that is not possible.......
