Render to a new track - uses the orig media not the proxy?

Hi, I think I know the answer to this but got to ask, if I choose to 'Render to a new track' one event that has proxies, can I assume it's using the orig media not the proxy, just like when you render the full & final project?

@Gid I would assume it is the original, not the proxy. But I suppose it is easy to test this if you know the proxy file location, just replace the proxy clip with a different clip but with the same name and render to new track!

Rendering to a new track is the same as normal rendering, it always uses the original media and not the proxy. The proxy is only used for previewing (in draft and preview mode).

@bitman @3POINT Thanks for the confirmation. I'll try swapping the proxy for another file when my timeline is free, it sounds like an interesting experiment.

@Gid Just load the proxy file into Mediainfo and see that it is always an ordinary XDCAM EX 35 720p24 file, no matter the resolution and framerate of your source file:
