Print To Tape will take whatever is on the timeline, render as necessary, and the output it over the firewire connection.

Render to AVI will take whatever is on the timeline and render it to an entirely new AVI file. This can be accomplished by using "Render As" or "Render to New Track". Once rendered, this can be output via Print To Tape with no further need for rendering of the video.

If the entire project is a single AVI file, it can also be output with no further rendering via the print feature of the capture program.
