Render to new in HDV

Hi-

I only worked with V6 a little today, and I was testing HDV.

When I tried to render to a new video in order to to see render times and so forth, I got slow motion to work nicely but a simple dissolve was very jittery.

Suggestions? Thanks.

19??X1080i on a dual 3 gig xeon w/sata raid.

With the dual Xenon you should be able to edit nativly. What format/template are you rendering to?

Sorry, my message was unclear. I am trying to render to a new track, therefore I can see an effect/transition as it will be, for instance.

The problem is while slow motion produces good results, cross disolve does not. Cross dissolve is jittery and and after the render is worse than the preview. The settings are the same, one works, the other does not.

I literally had a 1/2 hour to spend on it today, so it is really just a curiosity right now, I will go back to exploring the issue tomorrow.

Just curious if any ideas or maybe known problems pop in to anyones head.
