Render2DVD script/AC3 question

I have been using the Render2DVD script that was posted here a few days after VV4 was released. It's a nice script because it renders the DVD-A video stream and then the .ac3 stream without intervention. Only problem is with the script is that that I am getting no sound from my rear speakers on audio rendered using the script. Rendering .ac3 manually without a script sounds just fine. Anyone know a workaround or what I might be doing wrong?

Also, I noticed that one of the options for the .ac3 setting is Dolby Surround EX mode. If I opt for this mode does this mean those who play my DVDs in a non 5.1 system get Dolby Surround while those with 5.1 get the whole show?

Thanks for any ideas.

Is your project a stereo project? ( File | Properties | Audio tab)

If your project is a stereo project, the Render2DVD script will use the stereo template for AC-3 rendering.

The projects in question were intended to be 5.1 but came out in stereo. I'll check on the project properties; they may have had default settings (whatever those are) By no means a show stopper because I'm merely archiving VHS to DVD and the original was not 5.1. I suppose I just learned a little more about the script.

What about the Dolby surround question? Most people don't have 5.1 but I would like those who have surround to at least get that experience if they don't have 5.1.
