Rendering 1920 x 1080 AVCHD

Ok ... so got my Sony HDR SR12 and lovin it. Burned a couple of AVCHD discs via the Sony burner, popped it into the PS3 and the footage is just unreal. Significant improvement in low lighting compared to the SR8.

I've taken footage into VP8 edited and just did a mix with HDV footage then went to attempt to burn a blu ray file. I first tried via Scripts/Batch Render then burning directly to Blu ray. No success.

Can VP8 render 1920 x 1080 AVCHD footage to blu ray? When I see all the avc codecs in Vegas I see all the 1440 varieties but no 1920 and just wondering if it has the ability?

Thanks in advance for any help with this. When DVD Archetict gives us teh ability to author blu ray discs with menus I want to know I can properly render a project.

Thanks,

Currently 1920 x 1080 rendering is possible (and works beautifully) with the Mainconcept MPG-2 codec but not with the Sony AVC codec.

Thanks for the response LJA. I get a crash when I go to script/batch render in that codec. :( Perhpaps its because I'm mixing HDV with the AVCHD?

I edited and mixed footage with the same 2 cams and rendered in .wmv HD here (http://www.vimeo.com/1007937) and it came out fine though. :-S

One thing I have noticed is that sometimes if I render in a certain codec and then render a different rez in the same codec I get a crash. Perhaps I need to save the 2nd mpeg 2 file in a different folder? I'll give that a shot.

Sheesh. Deleted other rendered MPEG2 files of the same project and project still crashes. :( Any ideas?
