Rendering a mass amount screenshots

hey, i've got a large amount of screenshots 10,000 in .jpeg format, when i import this many into vegas(importing as a still image sequence) it has a bit of a fit, comes up with some weired errors but i can work my way around them. the problem is when i go to render these shots i can do a uncompressed render fine(works perfect), but when i try to use a codec it seems to start stopping, skipping, and jumping forward in some area's, any idea's on what could be the problem and how to solve it (i've tried various codec's WMV9, XviD, DivX).
also is there a way when i render to render at a higher frame rate then 29-30fps, i know it's somewhere in one of the rendering options(probably) but i just can't find it.
thanks.

As a workaround, render to uncompressed. Then open the uncompressed file and make your other final format from that.

There is nothing in the template for faster framerates, but you can type/input a faster framerate if that's what you'd like to do. There are also the animation codecs if you've got QT pro, 60 fps. I'd recommend the .tga format first though.
I don't know what to suggest in the area of the jpeg problems. Can you prerender prior to the actual render and get past the skips? Of course you can still do what you're doing, render to U/C and then use that as your archive/master.

Don't even bother attempting 10,000 screenshots in jpeg. Get yourself a copy of Irfvanview and batch convert all these files to png format. Then import the pngs into Vegas instead. It'll go much easier.

thanks for your help, i'll try the png idea, not sure if i'll have enough hdd space to keep the avi's uncompressed until the final render though.
