Rendering and File Size

Is there a way to see an estimated file size before rendering? I had a short clip which I wanted to render to the .wmv format so that I could upload it to the internet. My DSL server will only allow 10 MBs to be uploaded at a time, so I wanted to be sure the file would be under 10 MBs, (yet I wanted the project to be as close to 10 MBs so that it would look as good as possible). I looked in all of the settings, but could not see a file size. I ultimately had to render it three times to get it to the right file size. Am I missing something? Any suggestions?

The file size of WMV is basically tied directly to the bit-rate you use as that represents the bits-per-second that will be used to represent the video stream you will be creating (as long as you use "CBR = Constant Bit-Rate" (and not Variable Bit-Rate) - - CBR which mostly is what you would use)

There are various "bit-rate" calculators (online) that you can use to see how big the file will end up at.

One example calculator Just input the lenght of the video (minutes/seconds) and it will tell you the size of the resulting file at different encoding bit-rates.

Thanks! That'll help.
