I was wondering if it was possible to render audio at higher Kbps than what is offered on the templates (in .wmv format).

What are you seeing? I see 440 kbps, 48 kHz, 24 bit, Constant Bit Rate for stereo.

If that's not high enough might I suggest a non compressed or lossless compression format such as .wav or .pca. The reason for compressed formats is to reduce filesize for delivery. What are you intending to do?

For the 1 Mbps video template I get:
Audio: 64 Kbps, 44,100 Hz, Stereo.
Video: 30 fps, 320x240, WMV V9 Compression.

I'm rendering a music video and it seems highest kbps for .wmv format is 96 kbs for the 3 Mbps video template.

In the Render/Save As box, when you have chosen your template, click on the "Custom..." box, click on the Audio tab and change the bitrate from the drop down list.

Ooops, my bad, should have read closer. For .wmv then it's;

440 kbps, 88 kHz, 24 bit, Constant Bit Rate for stereo.
