Rendering AVCHD in Vegas Pro 9.0e

I'm editing video shot on the Sony DSC-WX7 camera. The format is AVCHD 1440 x 1080 x 12

Once edited, I would like to render the edited video without losing any quality if possible in this version of Vegas. Can anyone advise on the optimum PROJECT PROPERTIES and the optimum RENDER AS settings to get the best results. (NB I don't have he budget for an upgrade right now, so please advise best settings for this version of Vegas Pro 9)

Secondly if editing together clips from more than one video source format, how do you choose the best PROJECT PROPERTIES?

Thanks

What is the desired final delivery format? DVD, BD, YouTube/Vimeo, other?
All the usual (and unusual) format settings have been discussed at great length previously.
Getting the latest, VP-11, or even VP-10, won't necessarily give you any better quality.

Your source of AVCHD is already a lossy format to begin with to some extent -it is a misnomer to think that you will transfer, edit, and re-render without further losses. It is only a question of how much of a loss will be detrimental to your final output.

So the number 1 question is where are you taking this - the outcome on the web for example is a horrible loss, but if the outcome is on a direct interface to Blu-ray then your quality is pristine.

Here is a brief list of things that will affect your outcome (the lower number below is closer to direct quality) in a direct affecting relationship to your handling of the file.

1) Cuts only edit 2) Edits with some effects like dissolves 3) layering and compositing with titles and complex effects 4) resize output to something other than 1440x1080.
