Rendering change in 9.0a

After installing 9.0a rendering any type of file, (avi / wav / mov / mpg ) now only uses 1 core.

It uses different cores, but only 1 core at a time. So only 1 core out of the 8 cores (i7 920) is working at any time during the render.

Does anyone know what could have gone wrong? And how to fix it?

check settings under opitions , preferences - video tab and see if you have 8 set for the number of rendering threads.

I have a core 2 quad and Vegas 9a 32x and 64x the task manager show 100% usage of all 4 cores (Vista 64x) on render. I am using the default thread settings in preferances/internal (32x 4 threads 64x 16 threads). Check the thread settings as srode suggested.

it says 4 - like it always did, it won't go higher. It's 8 cores because of the hyperthreading.

I had no rendering problems before I installed 9.0a

rendering something in ver 8.0 now also gives the same 1 core behaviour.
