Rendering choppy

I just upgraded to VF 2.0c and have been rendering in avi - no problems. I upgraded to mpeg2 and now when i render, the transitions are choppy (as though there is a memory problem). I defragged all hard drives, and usually turn off the computer and restart before rendering to avoid memory problems. But it is still giving me real choppy transitions in both video captures and transitions. Any suggestions? TIA!

borgrat, could you clarify a couple of things, please? Are you talking about the transitions being choppy in the preview or in the finished mpeg file?

I don't understand what you mean by a transition in video capture.
