Rendering differences?

Hey guys,

What is the difference in rendering in different formats.

Specifically, I know that I need to render my movie (which is a collection of quicktime clips with extra mp3s added) in MPEG2.

If I wanted to have the *smallest* size file that people could view either online or that I could msn to someone, which format should I use? Are there compressors around?!?! The reason i ask is people msn me 5 minute clips that are really small, but still very good quality.

Thanks guys!

MPEG 2 is not a good format for use on the internet. May I suggest WMV, Quicktime, or REAL?
WMV currently offers the best stream and file size quality at low bitrates. REAL is next inline. Quicktime gets pretty good once you hit the 1Mbps range and higher.
All these tools are available in Vegas, and the presets are pretty good starting points.
File>Render As>Choose wmv, real, or Quicktime from there, and use a template for starters.
