Original error detail . . . cold-cocked V4c into lockup, had to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to restart. many thanks to SF e-mail Support!

Hey! We got it. FYI there were two such error points discovered, both in
intro stills floating over mainconcept animated backdrops with V4 generated
text media titles. A buncho track motion, FX, and event motion going on as
well. As near as I can tell, when I originally added the stills they were at
my default 7 sec duration. I left-clicked an edge, AND USED CTRL KEY, to
pull them out to 3+ times their 7 seconds. Lo! A blank frame appeared in the
event, one at 1025 and one in the second event later. These blank frames
were only 1 frame in duration each, and each event would preview just fine.
Only when I attempted to render would V4c error out with "sftrans1.dll" at
those blank frames.

I expanded the timeline all the way out and scrolled frame by frame to see
the blank frame. BTW, a border and shadow FX were still present, just the
image was dropped out.

I deleted just the timeline events and replaced them on the timeline from
the same media file I had started out with. Left-clicked an edge (WITHOUT
CTRL) and pulled them out to the duration desired. No blank frames, a
successful 4-hour render, a great slide show video of the year 2000 (at
least I hope the Grandparents think so).

Could this be a factor of V4c dropping an occasional frame to round out the
29.97 fps rate? Or does the CTRL/drag somehow compromise a still image
event? I hope this input is helpful. I would be more than happy to add info,
I probably should have tried to determine if the blank frame was located at
the same point or proportionally the same within the event, but I didn't.
Sorry.

You folks are the greatest, just as the forum always says. When I upgrade
and get into DVDs it's going to be Vegas+DVD and ALL Sony, just because SF
bought them ;-)
